The Uptown Cafe was opened in June of 2013, and all of the project people originals had a hand in its creation.
The space was in two units of a brand new commercial space in the Highlands of Warrenton. It seemed an ideal space for a restaurant - right in the heart of all the commerce. There was rumor of Costco coming just across the road. After crunching the numbers, David decided to go for it. Construction began on the eve of February 14, 2013. It's remembered mostly because the concrete dust from cutting the concrete for the plumbing set off the fire alarms and interrupted all their fellow firefighters Valentines dinners.

Krista has an incredibly gifted Aunt that made some incredible plywood paintings out of house paint! Krista gave her the red color to use as a base, and Christine Everest customized each panel. These panels were used as foam backed sound boards to deter echoing in the high ceilinged space.

It was the centerpiece of eye catching decor, and served as doors for our banquet/conference room.

Uptown was a busy place! A locals favorite for sure. It employed 25 employees at any given time, much of the staff were original staff from opening.
In 2015, Dave and Krista guided the staff through the Zipline course, where they were both guides- along with Char and SJ who were both guides and employees at Uptown.
