This project will involve removing a small access door to a small room under a sloping roofline, and creating a new *secret door* on the opposite side of the entry way, by cutting into a closet, and then- because everyone loves a hidden door- disguising the access as a bookshelf and put it on invisible hinges.
The first concern was the flooring. The home is 128 years old, and this particular section of flooring, was small (and beat up) enough to not interest them in trying to refinish them. So a nice rubber backed, wood look, vinyl plank was chosen to match the door stain.

Normally, they would avoid changing directions in the floor grain, let alone floor color tone, but in the end this door will be removed, and a finished wall in its place, creating a barrier and making the change unnoticeable.
