This project was not just updating, it included removing a closet and adding a bath tub.
A a free standing vanity was opted for, over inset cabinetry as well.
The demo part went well, and quickly, with the help of the home owner.

We demolished the shower unit, and the linoleum was stripped. The counter cabinet was removed, and the toilet was as well. Fortunately, the sub floor was in good shape.
We also removed a closet that had two short non-load bearing walls, to make space for a slipper tub.

The shower proved to be the biggest challenge. Versus another insert, the homeowner opted for a tiled shower. This involves angling the tiles to drain inward, adding a trough style shower drain, and making cut outs for hair products, and soaps as well as a a cut out for shaving.
As seen in the photos, the concrete for the shower was mixed in the bathroom, the base was set, and we did used Red Guard sealer under any place that may be exposed to water. Even outside the shower, where people may drip on the floor.
The finished project looks fantastic!
